Brian King for District 28 Representative Salt Lake City

Economy: We have an economy that is struggling to recover from the recession. We need to create a social and environmental atmosphere that will attract companies to Utah and promote the development and success of home grown Utah businesses.

If the State had a revenue surplus of $100 millions, how would you allocate the money?

1.  $50 million - for public education needs, including increasing teacher salaries, reducing class sizes, hiring ESL teachers, and increasing the programs and resources of our higher education programs.

2.  $30 million - programs or tax incentives to develop alternative energy resources such as solar, wind or geothermal sources.

3.  $20 million  - Funds to be used for assistance in extending health coverage for those currently uninsured.
